Special Tour ...

I arrived in Hadfield, I came on my Motorbike and to make things easier I will start off from the Train Station.

From the Train Station you can take a leisurely walk down the hill and past the War memorial, you will notice all the shops and to be honest it is more fun discovering them for yourself! The rest of this tour is not a walking tour, you need to be driving and it covers the filming locations outside of the obvious and outside of Hadfield!

I have been told that you may find Ordnance Survey Outdoor Leisure maps useful, especially 1 and 24 for the Churches Tour and 1 and 21 for the local shop tour.

Mike and Cheryl's Big day and Line dancing and Iris's Flat!

I left the station, turned left and walked up the hill, at the top of the hill I turned left up a steep hill, at the T-Junction I turned right down the hill towards Glossop

I went straight through the traffic lights, and as I begun to climb the hill, I turned left into Gladstone Street and I took the third right into Wood Street and I walked to the end until on my right there it was, Whitfield Working mens club where the wedding reception (mike and Cheryl) and the line dancing from the Christmas special was held, ahead is the stairs and balcony entrance to Iris's flat and on my left is the park where Mr. Foot met the blind man and Donna got her revenge on Lee!

Bernice's Church

I went back to the main road and turned left, walking up the hill. This goes on for quite a while and is best done in a car eventually you go under a railway bridge and immediately turn right at the T-Junction.

Bernice’s church is on the right just before the tee junction at the end of this road! I left the Church and turned left at the junction.

We are now heading for the 'Wolves did it' location

After 150 yards DO NOT follow the road as it veers right, continue straight on.

I turned right at the T-Junction at the end of the road then at the Traffic lights I turned left towards Buxton and then followed the winding road for approx 5 miles, you cansee the Goyt Valley on your right. Eventually you will loop around the head of a small steep sided valley, as you come to the end the road bends left, immediately after the bend take the right turn.

At weekend this road may be closed to cars but this is the route to the wolves did it location, I was here on a Thursday so I followed this route. I turned left at the Junction although it is more like a straight on and followed the narrow winding road and the reservoir (or river in the show) that Mike, Geoff and Brian crossed is on the left. There is a wooded mound on your left, that was the 'wolves did it' location!

Christmas Special Church

At the tee junction turn right onto the Buxton - Macclesfield road, pass the Pub (Cat and Fiddle) and pass the left turning but after a few miles turn left at the crossroads, follow the road down the hill to the T-Junction (pub and telephone box) and take the right fork, signposted Macclesfield Forest, continue and then turn right at the junction, go over the hill and there is the Church used for the Christmas Special!

Please note that this is a place of worship, do not do anything that would result in the Church being closed to the Public and remember CCTV covers the lot!

Stump Hole Caverns and Tubbs Cave!

Leave the Church by the same road and at the junction with the pub and telephone box, and turn right, climb up the hill, turn right at the top onto the Buxton - Macclesfield road, pass the Pub again but turn left at the T-Junction signposted Buxton.

Follow the road through Buxton, it is signposted A6 Chapel en le Frith and Manchester and drive straight through Doveholes and then turn right at the roundabout - A623 towards Castleton. At Sparrow pit I took the road to the left of the pub towards Castleton. Then I took the right Fork towards Castleton and down Winnats pass. I turned sharp left at the bottom. This road is a cul de sac but on this road is the Treak Cliff Caverns (Stump Hole Caverns) and Tubbs Cave. To find the Cave, drive to the end of the road, it is on the left and is a scramble up the rocks but beware it is really slippy, so...mind your feet.

Jump Leads for two and Charlie and Stella!

I drove back from the caves and instead of turning up Winnats pass I went through Castleton and Hope. I turned left onto the A6013 and then turned left at the T-Junction onto the A57 towards Glossop. I followd the road into Glossop and turned right at the traffic lights and the down the hill. After Cemetery Road look out for Windy Willows on the left, it is where Jump Leads for two was filmed (the inside bits) then take the the next left after half a mile and the first house on the right is Charlie and Stella's at the pub aon the left I turned left into Bosscroft and at the mini roundabout turned left up Station road!
